We knew from the beginning that creation was the only option for a setting to place our first collection. Being based in San Diego we had many options for this. The beaches, forests, mountains etc. The desert was the one that stood out to me immediately. I’ve always had an admiration of the desolate landscapes. There’s such a beauty in the signs of time that the landscape displays. Water erosion lines on mountainsides. Dunes smoothed over years of harsh winds. It’s easy to see signs of The Creator at work.
We had multiple stops along the drive, choosing the locations as we progressed, spotting clearings, overlooks, boulders, and viewpoints out the car window. Leaving room for making on the fly decisions is how I believe you get the best result. There's an infinite number of variables on a shoot, so I always try to make space to pivot or change directions.

Motocross was such a heavy influence on our first collection. It felt only right to involve it in the photography. Miraculously, my Suzuki DR650 was behaving that day and started up despite sitting under its cover for a month and a half.

And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
